The Community

On a quiet hillside, with spectacular panoramic views of the Rockies, the Bow River, and surrounding valleys and ravines, Gleneagles is located at the east side of the Town of Cochrane; just a few minutes from the Calgary City limits; and a little over an hour to downtown Banff.

The community, bounded on the north by the 1A Highway, the west by downtown Cochrane and the south and east by the Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park, is truly an escape into nature with over 13 acres of greenspace including four parks, boulevards, and islands. You can choose between living in GlenEagles East and West or in one of five bareland condominiums – GlenHaven, GlenSummit, GlenVista, The Estates and The Villas.

The Links of GlenEagles and Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park
The stunning golf course, The Links of GlenEagles, winds itself throughout the community. As well, there are extensive walking and cycling paths that link all of GlenEagles’ residential areas, or bring you right to downtown Cochrane, or to the neighboring Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. While the Glenbow Ranch is for day use only, it’s a popular place to meet up with friends and family for a picnic or hit the trails for some hiking and biking, as well as plenty of options for those who enjoy geocaching. The park also runs fantastic programs for visitors and schools in the area. So…whether you are wanting a heart pounding running workout or an easy stroll taking in the scenery, you will find it right outside your door.

Our Town

Established in 1881 the Town of Cochrane is located 18 km (11 mi) west of the Calgary city limits along Highway 1A. It is one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada and one of the largest towns in Alberta.

Situated along the Cowboy Trail, Cochrane makes your feel as though you are part of the old west while providing its residents with all the amenities and facilities of a big city.

While people often choose Cochrane as their home to access walking trails and the Rockies, there are over 12 baseball diamonds and several sports fields that can accommodate soccer, rugby, field hockey and football, as well as a number of tennis and pickle ball courts, a disc golf course, and a skate park. The Town is also home to the SLS Centre which is a 350,00 square foot family-oriented sports complex that accommodates fitness activities, swimming, curling, hockey, soccer and more. In addition, the Centre offers a wide variety of classes and children’s camps.

Our Downtown

Need to go shopping – no worries. Downtown Cochrane is only 5 minutes away and the view of the Rocky Mountains spanning the western horizon as you drive down the big hill will take your breath away. Once there you can stroll along Main Street with its unique buildings, art galleries, and tourist sites such as the Rockyview Hotel and McKay’s Ice Cream Shop. Want more traditional shopping? You can find almost everything that you need at our local grocery stores, retail shops, and professional offices.

You don’t drive or have access to a car today? You can book a ride on the COLT bus on-demand service. There are 149 stops throughout Cochrane and no transfers are needed.

Parks

Playground equipment is placed in three of the four parks in the subdivision for children to run and play safely. Parks with benches and natural sandstone rocks are available to enjoy the views and watch nature at its best.

Pathways

GlenEagles offers acres of walking and bicycle paths meandering throughout the community, into downtown Cochrane and into bordering Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park. Whether it’s a heart pounding running workout or an easy stroll taking in the scenery, you will find it outside your door.

Open Spaces

Regardless of where you live, all of the 955 homes in GlenEagles back onto open space, the golf course, or one of four parks, three of which offer playgrounds where children can run and play safely and where benches and natural sandstone rocks are available to enjoy the views and watch nature at its best.
